How to Clear Your Browser Cache

See the most recent version of a website by clearing your browser cache.

Clearing your browser’s cache can help ensure you’re viewing the most recent version of a site. This article will show you how to flush the cache of your preferred browser.

NOTE: Clearing the browser cache alone may not be enough. In such cases, consider alternative methods like incognito mode or accessing the site through a different device and network. Learn More


Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.

  2. Click on the More menu (three vertical dots) in the corner, then select More Tools, then select Clear Browsing Data…


  3. On the next screen, choose a time range and ensure “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files” are checked.

  4. Click Clear data. You’re done!


Mozilla Firefox

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.

  2. Click on the hamburger menu in the top right corner, and select Preferences.

  3. On the left sidebar, select Privacy & Security.

  4. In the “Cookies and Site Data” section, click Clear Data…

  5. Remove the checkmark in front of “Cookies and Site Data”.

  6. With “Cached Web Content” checked, click the Clear button. All done!


Safari

  1. On your computer, open Safari.

  2. In the menu bar, click the Safari drop-down menu and select Preferences.

  3. Click the Advanced tab and make sure Show Develop menu is checked, then close the Preferences window.

  4. In the menu bar, click the Develop drop-down menu, and select Empty Caches. You’re all done!


Chrome for Mobile

  1. On your device, open the Chrome app.

  2. At the bottom, tap More menu (•••), then tap History.

  3. At the bottom, tap Clear browsing data.

  4. Make sure there’s a checkmark next to “Cached Images and Files.”

  5. Tap Clear browsing data. You’re all set!


Safari for iOS

  1. On your device, open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap Advanced, then tap Website Data.

  4. Tap Remove All Website data and Remove Now. You’re all set!
